Our Purpose

Join a team that’s passionate about partnership. With careers at Dow, we take time to explore questions and talk to each other. We love to learn. Our people are driven by limitless curiosity.

We are an innovative, customer-centric, inclusive, and sustainable materials science company.

Employing 36,500 individuals
Across 109 manufacturing sites
In over 31 countries
Our portfolio of products and solutions includes:

Plastics: With new technology trends, our plastic additives can be experienced in many everyday items including vinyl, blow-molding bottles, film, rigid containers, PVC plastics, siding, decks and rails, foam pipes and profile formulations, window frames, high-efficiency lubricants.
Industrial intermediates: As the product of a reaction that is beneficial when used as a precursor chemical for another product, industrial intermediates can take on many shapes and forms. Ours are used in home comfort and appliance, building and construction, adhesives and lubricants, and more.
Coatings: Whether it’s a water-based coating or solvent-based coating, a thin film is deposited on materials to enhance specific properties such as enhanced performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Silicone businesses: Our silicone-based materials can withstand more demanding applications, from those operating at extreme temperatures, to those under harsh environmental conditions for long periods of time.

We make diversity and inclusion a priority—because sharing our perspectives and building on each other’s ideas will drive innovation. Could you imagine yourself in a place like this?

Assesses the fit for a full-time position on such a career path. Interns will lead challenging projects that are aligned with Dow’s strategic priorities and designed to provide practical skill-based development while offering insight into the Dow culture. Equally important, the role of each intern is to actively network across the company to develop their own assessment of Dow, our culture, and the full-time career opportunity.

The successful candidate will be part of the Mobility and Transportation TS&D (M&T Electronics Technical Service & Development) team. This team oversees the identification, development, and commercialization of silicone solutions that are meeting the application needs of our customers in the electronics assembly industry, with a strong focus on powertrain electrification.

This team also provides technical support to our customers using our silicone solutions for electronics applications. Application examples comprise battery modules, engine control units sealing and cooling (thermal management), power modules potting, battery packs assembly, base stations cooling (thermal management), converters/inverters potting/cooling, e-motor impregnation, display assembly, etc requirements developing applications operating in this new environment.

Thermal and volatile silicone material characterization :

Due to automotive electrification, the need for silicone materials is increasing. Therefore to support the automotive market, a data set of different properties needs to be created to answer the market needs and also to anticipate the development of new technologies based on previous results. Thermal conductivity, thermal impedance and fogging behavior are the main properties that will help to differentiate our products from other technologies/competitors.

The following actions need to be performed :

Measuring the thermal conductivity of different silicone materials with different testing methods
Measure the fogging behavior of different silicone materials
Improve the measuring methods if needed
Statistically prove the robustness of all measuring methods
Change the reticulation duration and technologies for the fogging test (RTV vs heat cure vs radical cure, CV polymer vs std polymer)
Interpret the results based on the chemistries involved and different parameters
