You are currently studying for a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Chemistry and/or Materials Science.
You are rigorous, an excellent lab worker, hands-on oriented, as well as a good team player. Autonomy and flexibility are expected.
You have a good working knowledge of English (the working environment is French and English speaking).
This offer is not limited to graduation year students, more junior candidates will also be considered, based on talents and competencies.
You can start between February and May 2023 for a period of 4-6 months (exact timing to be discussed).

Research & Development Internship – Improved silicone emulsions for optimized coatings

We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student (m/f), to support our Dow Silicones business by doing an internship project in improved silicone emulsions for optimized coatings, for our location in Seneffe, Belgium.

Project description

We are continuously striving to expand the capabilities of our coatings, and this project aims at the optimization of silicone emulsions used for example in the manufacturing of bakery papers.

The project will focus on the development and optimization of new silicone emulsions for implementation in faster-speed industrial coating processes.

The work will involve:

1/ Preparation of aqueous silicone emulsions (formulation)

2/ Characterization of the emulsions

3/ Coating on different substrates

4/ Application testing & performance measurements.

During the stay, the intern will be interacting with experts from mainly Product Development but also Technical Service and Analytical.
