Complément d'information

Want to help shape the bank of tomorrow today ?

At the bank for a changing world, our employees make change their greatest asset, turning challenges into opportunities. They think ahead to offer customers innovative solutions perfectly suited to their needs. At BNP Paribas Fortis, the country’s number one bank, employees enjoy continuous career growth in a rewarding and flexible work environment.

As a Test Engineer, you’re part of the Test Competence Centre. We subject all software developed for BNP Paribas Fortis to thorough tests within a predefined strategy. This incorporates performance and security testing. As well as the automation of tests, our tasks include conducting tests within Agile projects and test data management. Our priority is to deliver high-quality products, the risks of which are carefully calculated in advance with the lowest possible total cost of ownership. By doing this, we ensure that BNP Paribas delivers the smoothest and most efficient service possible, with happy clients as a result.

As our Test Engineer, you share in the responsibility of ensuring the predefined test strategy of a project runs efficiently and smoothly, in line with BNP Paribas Fortis test processes. When it comes to Asset Management, you take full responsibility for discussing any changes with the asset and the business, preparing, planning and performing tests as previously agreed. This is where business and application knowledge are the ultimate keys to success.

You also provide crystal-clear communication. You’re the glue that binds the different stakeholders together. You apply yourself seamlessly to both traditional and Agile projects.

You approach traditional projects by:

  • analysing demands and listing any initial uncertainties and shortcomings.
  • starting preparations for functional test cases. You then present them, along with any questions you may have, to the Business Analyst and stakeholders during validation meetings.
  • demonstrating excellent flexibility. You’re not scared by the thought of conducting technical tests in an early phase, or afraid of supporting end-users.

For Agile/DevOps projects:

  • You base your approach on user stories, ensuring everything runs smoothly as a result of fluent communication and collaboration.
  • You decide which cases need to be tested manually and what needs to be automated.
  • Any technical knowledge you have that goes beyond the basics is highly regarded.

How do things look from a practical perspective?

  • You familiarise yourself with the business matter of a project and check which requirements are needed. As such, you set up relevant tests and execute them yourself.
  • You keep an eye on the scheduling for tests, punctually providing the Test Manager with reports on your activities, covering everything from test results to risks, with particular attention paid to problems. This enables the Test Manager to quickly communicate to others on the progress being made.
