Redu Space Services (RSS) has a vacancy for a member of the Operations Team at the European Space
Security and Education Centre (ESEC), in Redu in the Ardennes region of Belgium.
The Operations team provides monitoring and operations support to a wide variety of services and
missions, such as Small Satellite Operations, Galileo and EGNOS navigation, satellite antennas
operations for ESA and other customers, and supporting also ESEC on Facility Management as User
Help Desk. The Operations requires 24/7 support and, as a member of the Team you will work within
the Operations Shift Rotation.
As a member of the Team you will report directly to the Shift Operations Team Leader.
In this position you will:
• Be part of a 24/7 shift team as first Point of Contact, manning the Station Control Room (SCR)
• Operate the User Helpdesk Systems for the day to day activities respecting the Service Level
Agreements in place for the different services
• Use the User Help Desk reporting tools for, tracking Station Control Room on console
activities logbook, creation and managing of Anomalies, Change and Service Requests
• React to customers request according with the SLA’s KPI definition and report in a timely and
quality manner
• Perform the Level 1 Preventive Maintenance assigned to the SCR Operation Team
• Mainly outside of normal working hours, perform the Level 1 Contingency for re-establishing
the nominal functionality of affected system
• Monitoring the Small Satellite Operation (PROBA Mission) outside of normal working hours
• React on customers request for, equipment visual inspection or anomaly resolution
• Provide support in the operations of hosted equipment
• Support the RSS Project/Service Managers trend analysis report extraction when required
• Provide proactive support to the SHIFT Operations Team Leader for the elaboration,
implementation, revision, and simulation of Service Operation Documents
• Respect of customers and RSS Quality and Safety guidelines is strictly mandatory
Ideal candidates shall meet the following criteria:
• Be a national of a Member State of the European Union
• Hold a valid EU Secret Security Clearance or be entitled to obtain it from the relevant NSA
• Fluent in spoken and written French and English
• Have a bachelor’s degree, technical high school diploma, or equivalent technical qualification
ideally in a Telecommunications/Electronic or Electrical related discipline
• Be able to achieve the SCR Operator training certification which include ESEC site Facility
Management, EGNOS and Galileo Ground Station Navigation systems, Small Satellite
Operation (PROBA Mission), and other satellites antenna hosted at ESEC site
• Familiar with the multi-mission operational environments
• Good analytical skills; capacity of learning and problem-solving minded
• Team worker / autonomous / result and customer oriented
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, Radio Frequency, Low and High-Power electrical circuits, Satellites
mission Concepts of Operation is desired
• Thorough experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project,
etc.)
• Strong customer satisfaction and quality service delivery focus
